Guide: Creating a test entry to examine sync problems

Post by pulsecode on Wed Sep 13, 2017 12:14 pm

In order to examine problems regarding synchronisation our developer team requires test entries (appointments or contacts).
A test entry can give us additional information regarding the behaviour during synchronisation, which is enabling us to better examine problems and fix them faster.

Instructions for appointments

1. Create a new appointment in Outlook with the subject $$cfos_dump$$ . Do this in the calendar that is set up for the synchronisation.
2. Synchronize the calendar manually.
3. Create a new appointment on your CalDAV-Server with the subject (or title) $$cfos_dump$$
4. Synchronize the calendar manually.
5. Send us the file trace.txt from the directory C:\Users\WINDOWS_USER\AppData\Local\cFos\outlook_dav

Instructions for contacts

1. Create a new contact in Outlook with the name $$cfos_dump$$ in the contacts folder that is set up for synchronisation.
2. Synchronize the contacts folder manually.
3. Create a new contact on your CardDAV-Server with the “given name” $$cfos_dump$$
4. Synchronize the contacts folder manually.
5. Send us the file trace.txt from the directory C:\Users\WINDOWS_USER\AppData\Local\cFos\outlook_dav

Please send us the trace file via email (see cFos Support-Forum-Avatar).

Thank you!
