Re: cfosspeed 11.05 build 2453 - no changelog/revision history
Hi Chris,
The latest beta 2456 is better with less mouse freeze. However, I have uninstalled it for now as I'm getting Blue screen of death, there are 2 major issues, and I will try detail from what I can see is happening
(1) BSOD (Kmode exception not handled)
I use BT, so I think 1000-2000 connections is a fair number. If you have a torrent client running, 1000+ connections opened, upload & download at the same time. Open this page https://cfos.forumieren.de/post?t=252&mode=reply (I use Google Chrome), on the right hand side of the page there are many smiley faces animating at the same time, the mouse start to have random freeze. After I start typing some sentences in this reply here, I got this Blue Screen of death. Seems something to do with threading.
(2) As issue pointed out by other member, https://cfos.forumieren.de/t243-multiple-bsod-with-11-05-2448
This issue is hard to reproduce, but I saw this is exactly what happened.
- When it happens, the whole connection is dropped, basically all connections is hanged, e.g. if you open a website on chrome, it just hangs, spinning icon never loads. It looks like the service has crashed! but intentionally caught in an exception. No error in the event viewer
- All the configurations in the programs tab in settings are all WIPED out
- Add a custom priority for one of my program, which can add it to the empty list successfully, but it does not have any effect, i.e. something seriously has crashed!
I don't seem to find anything in the logs, so I guess this is what happened. Something has crashed inside cFosSpeed and has wiped out all the settings, but i think the crashed has intentionally caught inside an exception in software code, but it's not handled properly?

Re: cfosspeed 11.05 build 2453 - no changelog/revision history
Any updates on the changelog for 11.05 build 2453? I have tried this build and encountering some weird issues, so I wonder what exactly has changed in this build.
The issue I encountered is I'm getting mouse / system freeze every 5-10 seconds when my upload reaches 55+MB/s (with 1000+ active connections). I've rolled back to 2452 and it's fine now.
Not sure if anyone encountered this issue?
I also suggest putting in some tests (if there's no tests put in place) and run all the tests before releasing a new beta. There seems to be a tendency a new/old bug is introduced/reappeared in every new beta version. One example I saw is all the configurations are gone in the program settings, which is fixed in some version, but reappeared in later beta version.

I purchased cFosSpeed over 10 years ago.
It's just weird that after an "era of trust" there is a "period of not being trustworthy" and that this cycle happens every few years.

El Narizon wrote:Actually I don't trust any build newer than 2447.
Besides the various reports I also had my own experience - with 2452.
I cannot tell with 100% proof that it was the fault of cFosSpeed, but all signs point to it.
I tried 2452 and it worked for half a day - then the PC was "black screen of death" locked.
This is a very rare situation.
I had to reset the PC and booted to safe mode, did the full chkdsk /offlinescanandfix stuff for all partitions and reinstalled 2447.
Everything is okay again.
Years ago there was a similar time-frame in which all new beta builds were broken over weeks and a potential reason for BSOD or other weirdness.
Then it was all solved and I was able to trust each new beta build for over two years.
But now it's there again - a time-frame in which to not trust any new beta.
Oh, I had a BSOD some months ago too with cFosSpeed, but it happened while testing the latest alpha (not beta) - https://cfos.forumieren.de/t199-cfosspeed-10-59-alpha-blue-screen-of-death -, thank God it was fixed fast and didn't damage my system, only happened when I tried to check for updates (oh the irony). As I like cFosSpeed (yes, I purchased it), I keep trying new betas and didn't find new BSODs. My biggest fear with software is a BSOD with system corruption leading to system not booting, it is so stressful when this happens. Sadly not only alpha or beta software make this happen, I had the same problem with a stable version of Firefox some time ago - read this thread for details: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1266313

Well, that's bad. It's a beta build, we need to know what changed in order to test... when there is no changelog is that because the changes are so minor that they won't even mention them or something else?

cfosspeed 11.05 build 2453 - no changelog/revision history
So, when we go to the page: https://www.cfos.de/pt-br/beta/cfosspeed-whats-new.htm
There is no revision history for this latest version that is showing up: cfosspeed 11.05 build 2453
The revision history ends at build 2452. I think something went wrong when you tried to edit it.
Thank you.
