the simplest way 2 *combat* the "MS" updater.....is 2 simply "quarantine" the wuaueng.dll ..... then restore this pathetic little file when you have time 2 update your OS....

General tip if you don't know which task to look for.
When the network chokes, right click on cFos Speed and then click on "Current Connections".
You should see the culprit in the window.
Each entry has a + and - at either end.
From here you can change the priority of any currently connected task.
If you are happy you found the right tasks you should look in the main options at the program priorities lists to see if the task is already listed, and change the priority there.
If the task is not listed, pick a suitable section and add the task with your preferred priority.

How to slow down Windows Update? Empty How to slow down Windows Update?

Post by dbur Sat Jul 28, 2018 10:02 pm

I had great success throttling back the Adobe Creative Cloud updater that used to shut down my whole home network.  Now I hardly even notice it.

So I would like to do the same thing with Windows10 updates, which also kills my whole network,  but I'm not sure how to do that.

Anybody know what to do to accomplish this?

Thanks.
